Beef with port and mushrooms


eef, port and mushrooms

2 persons - main dish – 40 minutes

Ingredients:

2 beef steaks

1 tablespoon olive oil

Ingredients for the sauce:

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/2 onions, peeled and finely chopped

50 grams mushrooms

1 ½ tablespoons cornflour

100 millilitres port

100 millilitres water

½ cube beef bouillon

To finish:

Tomatoes, cherry size cut in half

Mint leaves, chopped

Accompanying vegetables, such as courgettes or peas.

Preparation:

Make the sauce – fry the onions in the butter 10 minutes, then add cornflour, stirring well. Then stir in the port and the water, and the beef cube. Let the sauce simmer 10 minutes.

Meanwhile in another frying pan fry the beef both sides in the oil, then lower the heat and cook for 10 minutes.

Serve the beef covered in sauce and chopped mint alongside the tomatoes and accompanying vegetables such as courgettes.
