Beef mini-Wellington
2 persons – main course – 60 minutes
Ingredients for the beef:
1 (250 gram) beef entrecôte or steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
Ingredients for the sauce:
50 grams mushrooms, chopped
2 shallots (or 1 small onion) peeled and chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
10 grams butter
Ingredients for the pastry:
800 grams (1 packet) flaky pastry
1 small egg, beaten
Preparation:
In a frying pan heat the oil and butter and seal the beef. Reserve the meat.
Clean the pan and fry the onions, mushrooms and garlic in the butter for 15 minutes to form a sauce.
Roll out the pastry. Brush with egg. Sit the beef on it. Cover with mushroom sauce.
Close the pastry around the meat using egg to seal the join.
Put the pastry in a roasting dish and brush with the remaining egg.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 35 minutes.
Leave for 5 minutes to cool before slicing.
